Hyundai’s value touted as rival car dealers seek models

Proof that Hyundai is skyrocketing in popularity and value is evidenced by the recent appearance of a sign at a competing dealership. The sign reads "$1,000 extra for your Hyundai!" and it is drawing countless reactions from members of a pair of Planet Hyundai dealerships in the Las Vegas Valley.
"That sign means that Hyundai has made great progress in the last few years with design and implementation of design," said Todd Fowler, a 12-year veteran of the car business and a sales consultant at Planet Hyundai Centennial, 6200 Centennial Center Blvd. "Hyundai has won numerous awards that are a result of the higher resale value. There are now lower initial prices and higher resale values. Any time you have a competitor offer more money for your vehicle, that's the ultimate compliment."
Centennial Hyundai Used-Car Director Jeff Nabel, who has been in the car business for 35 years, also said the sign was proof that Hyundai has reached an all-new level.
"Hyundai resale values have escalated so much that past owners of late model Hyundais will enjoy tremendous trade-in values, especially if they bring them into Planet Hyundai as a trade," Nabel said. "I have never seen a sign like this before and it validates Hyundai's current market value. It also drives home the fact that Hyundai assurance and guarantee of future value for our vehicles is affirmed and brings unprecedented value to our new- and used-car customers.
Carlos Hidalgo, new-car manager at Planet Hyundai Centennial, said he had not seen anything like the sign in his 17 years in the business.
"Hyundai has taken over the market and that particular sign is proof of that," said Hidalgo, who has been with Hyundai for nine years. " I own two Hyundais and could not be more proud of that fact."
Planet Hyundai co-owner Ron Coury said, "Hyundai is enjoying one of the top ratings of any manufacturer with regard to retaining their vehicle value as compared to other brands. Proof of that is that other dealerships are now offering $1,000 extra for a Hyundai. This competitor's desire to have more Hyundais on his lot is the greatest compliment possible to Planet Hyundai.
" When our competitors are in a bidding war for our Hyundai products, we couldn't ask for a greater attaboy. It's just ironic to have it come from a competitor but Planet Hyundai welcomes the pat on the back."
Planet Hyundai Sahara Sales Manager Ernie Leon concurred, adding, "Dealerships will do anything to get preowned Hyundais now. The Hyundai is the hottest car on the market right now for so many reasons."
