Independence Day options are plentiful in Henderson

CITY OF HENDERSON
The city of Henderson is scheduled to host its annual Fourth of July Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. July 4 at Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Drive.
The event is set to include concessions and live performances by the Randy Anderson Band and the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. An 18-minute fireworks show is scheduled for 9 p.m., according to city spokeswoman Kathy Blaha.
“About 25,000 people showed up last year,” Blaha said. “It’s a family-friendly event, so there’s some activities for children as well as live music and food.”
Parking is scheduled to be available at Foothill High School, 800 College Drive. A complimentary shuttle is set to provide transportation from the school to the park starting at 5:30 p.m.
Glass containers, alcohol, sparklers, fireworks, barbecues and pets are prohibited at the event.

STATION CASINOS FIREWORKS BLAST
Station Casinos plans its “We Love Locals July 4th Fireworks Blast” show at 9 p.m. July 4 at Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway.
The nine-minute fireworks show is set to be produced by the Grucci’s of New York.

BOULDER CITY
Boulder City is scheduled to host its 66th annual Damboree Celebration starting at 7 a.m. July 4.
The daylong event is scheduled to start with a pancake breakfast at Bicentennial Park, 1100 Colorado St.
A flyover by the Boulder City Veteran’s Flying Group is scheduled at 9 a.m. to kick off a parade, which is set to start at Colorado Street and Nevada Highway and end at Sixth Street and Avenue B.
“We’re the longest-running parade in the state of Nevada,” said parade coordinator Barbara Agostini. “We have a water section at the end of the parade where people can engage in squirt gun fights with people in the parade as well as people in the audience.”
Games, food and entertainment are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Broadbent Memorial Park, 1301 Fifth St.
Festivities from 6 to 11 p.m. are set to be moved to Veteran’s Memorial Park, 1650 Buchanan Blvd., with a 30-minute fireworks show scheduled for 9 p.m., according to Roger Hall, director of Boulder City Parks & Recreation.
“The parks are always full of people having a great time,” Hall said. “The kids are playing, people are dancing and the fireworks are amazing beyond belief.”
No personal fireworks or glass containers are allowed in the parks. Hall encourages attendees to bring umbrellas or other shade structures and water.
