Inspirada parks different than most

Inspirada’s parks were planned as part of a centralized open space corridor where residents have less than a five-minute walk to their outdoor amenities, AndersonBaron Landscape Architecture principal Andy Baron said.

They were also designed to be different.

“Everything at Potenza Park is all about movement and music,” Baron said, demonstrating the parks’ giant embedded piano keys with Guy Martin, vice president of Martin-Harris Construction, which built the new parks.

“In this highly evolved technological age, we incorporated highly interactive pieces like Neos, a living game that encourages children to make up their own games,” Baron said. “We wanted to do stuff that was different.”

They were also concerned about safety, said Martin, whose company has built more than 20 Southern Nevada parks in the past 38 years.

“Every member of our team is a parent, and we wanted to make sure we can see our kids here,” Martin said. “I can find my children from every element in every park.”

Inspirada parks were designed to attract people to come out and meet other people, Baron said.

“We wanted to create a place for people to engage with nature and with one another,” he said.

Potenza and Capriola parks are part of the new development in the master-planned community of Inspirada, which also includes eight new neighborhoods.

They were designed by Baron and built by Martin and developed by Inspirada Builders, LLC, a partnership of homebuilders Beazer Homes, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Toll Brothers.

Besides its interactive musical elements, the 5-acre Potenza Park includes lighted basketball courts, picnic ramadas, playground, shade structures, a skate area, open turf and restrooms.

Capriola Park is 12 acres and features lighted multiuse fields, lighted tennis and basketball courts, picnic ramada, playground, dog park, splash pad, shade structures, open turf and restrooms.

Coming in spring is Aventura Park, with 20 acres that will include two Little League fields, two multiuse play fields, double basketball courts, four volleyball courts and a heated pool for residents.

Inspirada Builders offer 18 new model homes in eight neighborhoods in the Henderson master-planned community, where move-in homes are now available.

New homes are designed for every lifestyle, with floor plans that range from just more than 1,500 square feet to more than 4,500 square feet, priced from the low $200,000s to more than $400,000s. New-home options in Inspirada include luxury town homes, patio homes and one- and two-story single-family homes with large backyards.

Besides new parks and new homes, visitors can experience Inspirada’s future from the Overlook.

The Overlook, off Bicentennial Parkway, offers a panoramic experience enhanced by a free Inspirada app for smartphones or tablet computers. The app uses geopositioning, internal compass, augmented reality, 3-D parallax, dynamic image rendering and animation to bring Inspirada’s future to life, including parks and neighborhoods in development.

Inspirada is home to more than 2,500 residents. For more information, visit www.inspirada.com or follow the community on Facebook at www.facebook.com/inspiradanv.
