Land Rover event goes to the dogs — literally

When it comes to the top models, Land Rover Las Vegas recently had quite a few on their lot — but there wasn’t one you could drive home in.

Instead of the latest model vehicles, the dealership cleared off the lot, erected a runway and hosted fashion models during its Models for Mutts fashion show charity event.

Thirty models wore fashions from local designers and walked down the runway accompanied by adoptable dogs from The Animal Foundation.

The event was sponsored by Chinese Laundry Shoes, Whole Foods and Land Rover Las Vegas to help raise awareness and funds for the foundation and its work to find new homes and a refuge for homeless, lost, neglected, unwanted and abused animals.

Fashions during the event were provided by David Tupaz, of the Las Vegas Fashion Design Council, and Valerie Mac of Boutikitou and Elle Heaven Clothing.

The evening included music by DJ Hass Deniro, photographs by Tolga Katas and an appearance by Arbor the Go Vegas Dog, a rescued dog that is now a “rover” reporter who visits spots around the valley with a camera on his collar.
