March 23, 2012 - 1:08 am
Lincoln introduced the 2013 MKS and MKT at Team Ford Lincoln recently. The March 12 event was heralded as a special exclusive "sneak peek" event.
Lincoln brought all the pomp and circumstance for this occasion. The all-new 2013 Lincoln MKS and the 2013 Lincoln MKT were available to test-drive on a closed track at Team Lincoln with a professional driver.
"It was incredible. The number of customers that came out to test drive the all-new 2013 Lincoln models was fantastic," said Jodie Huebner, the Lincoln manger at Team Ford Lincoln. "What a great night. Free food, live jazz music and the all-new 2013 Lincoln MKS and MKT. It really does not get much better than this."
Current owners of Lincolns and the general public were invited to the dealership to preview the new Lincoln Drive Control that offers three driver-selectable modes: comfort, normal and sport. A major component of this system is continuously controlled damping suspension and Electric Power-Assisted Steering.
Also, the vehicles offer features such as Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control, improved brakes for a better feel; standard 3.7l V-6 with Ti-VCT for boost in power and efficiency; and an available 3.5l EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 with increased horsepower for performance and 365 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 350 pounds of torque.
Also updated for the 2013 model was the instrument panel, which now incorporates MyLincoln Touch, new fascia/grille designs, premium materials and real wood appliqués, heated steering wheel and multicontour seats with active motion and power-adjustable pedals.
Immediately after the test drives, those attending were treated to hors d'oeuvres from Wild Truffles and live music from the jazz quartet SadderDaze.
Team Ford Lincoln, at 5445 Drexel Road, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 95 and Ann Road, is the No. 1 selling Ford dealership in total retail sales for four years in a row.
