For the rest of New Year’s Day, police combed through several locations, and looked in, under and around trash cans. While canvassing the rest of the neighborhood for potential clues, neighbors said it’s a mystery because celebrations on Wednesday night were subdued.

Mitchell Avenue was closed until just before 5 p.m. while detectives and police forensics unit were on the scene.
