Nevadans are even among the worst in the US at loving their dogs

They say love is a fur letter word, but not for Nevada — one of the least pup-loving states in the country.
In fact, Nevada ranked 44th in the nation, according to The Doggy Love Index, just slightly above Rhode Island, Vermont and Maine.
That upsetting figure is based on a survey of 3,000 pet owners across the country, or as they call them, “pet parents.” The data was collected by PRH Data Insights.
The rankings were calculated by averaging the percentage of a state’s dog parent population that says they regularly engage in loving behaviors with their dog.
The most loving states? California, New York and Washington.
So how does the nation plan on showing love to their dogs this Valentine’s Day? Most say treats, saying “I love you,” buying a special gift or posting picture on social media.
Step up your game, Nevada.
