One-off Challenger built for ‘Chop’

"Street Customs," a TV show about car customization on the The Learning Channel, recently came to Las Vegas to visit Josh "Chop" Towbin, co-owner of Towbin Dodge and the star of A&E channel's "King of Cars."

The "Street Customs" crew celebrated the West Coast Customs Chopper Edition, which is on display now at Towbin Dodge in the Valley Automall.

This car is the world's only wide-body convertible Dodge Challenger made by "Street Customs," which airs locally on Channel 38. The upcoming episode features the making of the Chopper Edition from inception to the finished product.

"It was truly an honor to have 'Street Customs' build me a car," said Towbin. "These guys know how to build it right and make it a true one-of-a- kind custom creation."

The West Coast Customs Chopper Edition has custom-fabricated wide-body rear fenders and a working power convertible top. The car boasts power rear windows, a fully custom interior, a Mopar T/A hood in flat black, full-custom suspension built by West Coast Customs, one-off 26-inch and 24-inch three-piece flat black-and-white Asanti wheels and Pirelli tires.

In addition, the Chopper Edition Challenger has a high-tech Polk audio system with a high-performance amplifier and subwoofers.

Other special features include a flat-black spoiler, a one-of-a-kind Protype Gibson exhaust, custom flat-black retro striping and a blacked-out rear tail lamp.

Each week, "Street Customs" designs a unique car for celebrities and car aficionados.

The show highlights legend Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs car remodeling company and his unorthodox family of technicians. His builds range from customizing modern-styled street rods to chopping up $100,000 luxury vehicles. His client list includes sports stars and Hollywood celebrities.

West Coast Customs houses craftsmen skilled in all aspects of car building under one roof, allowing TLC viewers to see the entire process from conceptualization to execution.

Visit Towbin Dodge at 275 Auto Show Drive to see the Chopper Edition Challenger or tune in to "Street Customs" Thursdays at 9 p.m. on TLC.
