Owners find Mira Villa ideal place for holidays

Mira Villa owners Pete and Karla hosted their first holiday engagement in their new home this Thanksgiving.

The longtime Las Vegas-area locals purchased their home at the Summerlin luxury condominium community in late spring.

"There were so many exciting things about moving to Mira Villa," Karla said. "One thing, however, that I worried about was how my children would feel celebrating the holidays away from our family home of 16 years - the one they grew up in."

Pete and Karla said they were pleasantly surprised with how Thanksgiving in their new home felt. They said their 22 guests, who included family and friends, were quite content celebrating at Mira Villa.

"Much of our furniture, including the dining set, is from our old home," Pete said. "The time we spent together over the holidays felt the same as it always has. It really is all about family, and all four of our children were here to celebrate with us."

Pete and Karla opened the doors to each of their two patios making the space flow from the inside to the outside.

"It was great," Karla said. "Our outdoor fireplace and built-in electric heaters made the patios a popular place to congregate; the feeling was much like that of holidays past. Our middle son even told me that he couldn't imagine us living anywhere else. My only fear in moving completely disappeared as our family made new memories in our new home."

They said Thanksgiving at their new home turned out to be such a success that they are planning another holiday get-together before the new year.

"We are hosting a cocktail party soon for roughly 20 people and we also hosted a Christmas party for a group of Pete's childhood friends," Karla said. "It's really fun to entertain here because we are only responsible for making certain that the inside of the house is ready. In the past we would have worried about the lawn, landscaping, etc. Thankfully, we no longer concern ourselves with that, which is one of the other joys of living at Mira Villa."

"Our social life is more robust now than it was before," Pete said.

Mira Villa is a new guard-gated, luxury condominium community located 15 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip with access to Summerlin Parkway and Interstate 15.
