Pair purchases Elantra from Planet Hyundai

Delores and Vinnie Alvarado have owned their share of vehicles in 53 years of marriage and the couple rates their latest purchase of a 2012 Elantra at Planet Hyundai Centennial as among their favorites.

"We have owned a lot of luxury cars," said Delores Alvarado, who with her husband is a seasonal resident in Las Vegas when not living in Little Egg Harbor, N.J. "When our granddaughter was out here visiting last month, she got into the car and she actually liked it better than our Mercedes. The Elantra rates right at the top with all of the cars we have had and our granddaughter could not have said it any better."

Vinnie Alvarado also praised the vehicle, a four-cylinder front-wheel drive model.

"It doesn't felt like a lightweight car and also handles very well," he said. "We were looking forward to seeing how economical it was to own an Elantra and we will love the 40 miles to the gallon on the highway Even with the stop-and-go traffic of the city driving, the car will do very well. It's very roomy and also has plenty of trunk space. We have absolutely nothing to complain about. We love the car."

The Alvarados said the interior of the Elantra is very comfortable.

"The material inside the car is ideal," Vinnie Alvarado said. "The car also has Bluetooth, which is especially handy considering the new law regarding the usage of a cell phone when driving. The cluster of the dashboard is right in front of you and it was very well-planned when the car was built."

The Alvarados plan to take a trip to Lake Tahoe early next year in their car.

"With the wide open desert between here and Northern Nevada, I am sure the Elantra will cruise very easily," Vinnie Alvarado said. "It's a great highway car. We feel safe because we now have a new vehicle and if we were to have a problem, we have an 800 number that will lead to help on the spot."

The Alvarados also complimented their sales consultant Steve Falk.

"He didn't pressure us at all and we have sent everyone we know who are looking for a car to him," said Delores Alvarado. "All of our friends love the car and asked where we purchased. They handled our trade-in of a 1995 Nissan Maxima very well, too."
