Joe Rappa and his nephew Tony are waiting for you to come and taste homemade, Chicago-style Italian food featuring zesty sauces, Chicago beef and pizzas, including gluten-free, made to order. Among the specialty pies are veggie, Joe's White (tomatoes, onion, olive oil, garlic, spinach, Parmesan, mozzarella), margherita and the Meaty with sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon and ham. Among the sandwiches are sausage and peppers, meatball Parmigiana, Italian sub, Chicago Italian beef and Caprese with mozzarella, tomato, basil and olive oil. All entrees come with a side of pasta and include the popular chicken Marsala, shrimp scampi, linguini with red or white sauce, eggplant Parmigiana, chicken scallopini, eggplant rollatine (eggplant filled with three cheeses, layered with cheese and sauce). Pastas are baked ziti, manicotti, potato gnocchi with choice of sauce, meat or cheese ravioli and fettuccini Alfredo. Several salads are Caesar and the large antipasti. Among the homemade desserts are tirimisu, cannoli, cheesecake, gelato and spumoni ice cream. Dinner entrees begin at $10.99 and small pizzas at $8.99. Saucy Tomato is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday. -- Jack Bulavsky
