Planet Hyundai Cares will present free 2012 Accent

A heartwarming holiday campaign will result in a lucky Southern Nevada receiving a 2012 Hyundai. Entitled “Planet Hyundai Cares,” the campaign will culminate with the awarding of the brand-new 2012 vehicle.

Those wishing to nominate someone they feel has made positive contributions within the local community can do so by visiting www.planethyundaicares.com. Nominations have been received steadily since the campaign started in November.

Key to the promotion is the fact that the car is a true giveaway rather than a lease. Possibly even more important is that while many giveaways stipulate that the recipient pays the taxes and fees, the ownership of Planet Hyundai’s two dealerships are absorbing those costs, too.

In addition, the winner of the 2012 Accent will receive the 10-year, 100-mile powertrain warranty, along with the five-year, 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty that comes with each new Hyundai.

Finally, the Accent comes with Hyundai’s Assurance trade-in guarantee that ensures the future value of every new Hyundai by guaranteeing today exactly how much it will be worth two, three or four years from the date the car is purchased.

Finalists will be announced Dec. 27; the Accent will be presented Dec. 30.

“This is truly one of the most interesting promotions of its kind that I have ever seen in the car business,” said Planet Hyundai Sahara sales consultant Terry Mills, who has been in the car business for 14 years. “The Accent will go to a very deserving individual who will be getting one of the best cars in the country.”

Added fellow sales consultant Rob Trujillo, “I have been in the car business for 18 years and have been selling Hyundais for the past eight years. I think it’s a wonderful promotion. It’s certainly one of the best that I have ever seen.”

Planet Hyundai co-owner Ron Coury said Planet Hyundai Cares is another example of the company’s sincere concern for the community.

“We are locally owned and operated, which sets us apart from the many corporate-owned dealerships in Southern Nevada,” said Coury. “I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 38 years since completing my service in the United States Marine Corps. As a longtime local resident and business owner, I’ve always tried to aid worthy local causes over the years. This unique and unprecedented program demonstrates our sense of gratitude for a community that has enabled us to enjoy great success within the Southern Nevada area. Our Planet Hyundai Cares giveaway is our way of identifying and rewarding others who have made positive contributions to worthy causes within our local community.”

Coury added, “I’ve raised three children and have three grandchildren, all living in Las Vegas. It means a lot to us as local business owners to do what we can for the community where our families live and to thank those that make Las Vegas such a terrific place to live.”

The Accent comes equipped with a four-cylinder power plant. The car gets 30 miles per gallon city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway.

Planet Hyundai’s dealerships in Southern Nevada are located at 7150 W. Sahara Ave. and 6200 Centennial Center Blvd.

Movie posters might soon be based on your clicks

You may have thought you left Blockbuster behind, but the basic way we browse movies hasn’t changed all that much. We peruse poster after poster, kind of like walking the aisles of a ‘90s-era video store. That one poster image, meant to appeal to as many people as possible, is often all we see before […]
