Ram Trucks supports the troops with letter-exchange program

The Letters for Lyrics program, a program launched by the Zac Brown Band and Ram Trucks, aims to collect 1 million letters to send to U.S. troops deployed around the world. Locally, Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep, located at 3175 E. Sahara Ave., is collecting letters and giving each letter writer a "Breaking Southern Ground" CD.

"This program is a great way to say 'thank you' to our courageous men and women in uniform," said General Manager Don Hamrick. "We are excited to offer this program for our community to show its support to the troops."

The CD features three all-new songs from Zac Brown Band and music from Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey. The compilation CD is not sold in stores and is exclusively available at Ram Truck dealerships.

Soldiers' Angels, a nonprofit organization, will deliver the letters on behalf of Zac Brown Band and the Ram Truck brand. Soldiers' Angels is a volunteer-led organization with more than 225,000 members providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, along with veterans and their families.

As part of the initiative, several short documentary-style videos are being posted on www.RamTrucks.com.

Chapman supports the armed forces by offering a $500 cash allowance to all qualified enlisted military personnel and veterans toward the purchase of new 2010 Ram, Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep vehicles.

Chapman also shows its support to the troops by sponsoring the "Still Serving" radio show, produced by American Legion Paradise Post 149, that airs on KLAV-AM 1230 every Wednesday at 7 p.m.
