Rental truck thief leads Calif. police on freeway chase

A person in a stolen Budget rental truck led police ion a freeway chase in the San Fernando Valley on Monday.

The chase began at about 12:45 p.m. The truck was stolen after a customer left the key in its ignition, according to KTLA.

The thief took the 5 freeway to the 134 before getting onto the eastbound 210 freeway, where he ran over a spike strip around 2 p.m.

The truck finally came to a stop as the driver tried to transition to the northbound 15. Cars could be seen pulling over on the freeway to watch the standoff with police.

Eventually, the driver exited the truck and was arrested.
