Shea logs steady sales for 2010

The year 2010 may go down as one of the worst for the housing market. However, Shea Homes Active Lifestyle Communities, a developer of age-qualified resort communities around the country, continued to do well and thrive, according to company officials.

Located in North Las Vegas, Shea Homes at Ardiente captured a 69 percent share of its market in sales from inside the Las Vegas metropolitan area, and a 34 percent share, including Mesquite, since it opened in April 2010, according to company officials. So far, this year, while new home sales are down 15 percent nationwide, Shea Homes Active Lifestyle sales are up 28 percent.

Shea Homes at Ardiente offers three upscale home designs -- the Riviera, Monte Carlo and Portofino Collections.

Homes range from 1,218 to 2,444 square feet and start in price from the $140,000s.

All homes are 100 percent Shea Green Certified, providing residents with a choice of energy-efficient features, such as solar technology and blow-in green fiber insulation that can save up to $15,000 on utility bills over 10 years. Residents have the freedom to choose the level of green performance that is the best fit for them. Every home comes in one of three levels of Shea Green Certified performance -- complete, plus or ultra -- and homes at each level exceed industry standards, according to company officials.

At the center of the luxury community is the Ardiente Clubhouse, a 20,000-square-foot social hub that features a fully equipped fitness center, a group exercise studio, game room with six gaming tables, billiards room with two championship tables, an onsite activities director, members' business center and multipurpose meeting room.

Additional outdoor recreational amenities include seven parks interconnected by walking trails, tennis and bocce courts, outdoor basketball ball court, chipping and putting greens and a Life Trail course with 24 fitness stations.
