Taxidermist attacked by bear, then shot by son-in-law

A Canadian man was saved by from a grizzly bear attack after being shot by his son-in-law.

NBC reports the 56-year-old man was attacked 9 a.m. Sunday in British Columbia, Canada. The grizzly bear reportedly attacked the man’s leg.

During the attack, his son-in-law, Skeet Podrasky, shot at the bear, accidentally shooting the man, according to CBC.

An official from the Ministry of Environment, David Karn, said the bear was killed by a second shot.

“The bear is a grizzly bear boar and it is believed at this time to be the only bear involved,” Karn said.

The man was later identified as taxidermist Wilf Lloyd. Lloyd’s condition is listed as stable.
