Teen recovering after being attacked with boiling rice

A teenage boy is recovering in an Atlanta hospital after his family says he was attacked with boiling hot rice.

Damon Clay, 17, is in intensive care with burns over 70 percent of his body, according to WSB-TV.

Family members said Clay was attacked in his sleep after two teenagers accused him of stealing a PlayStation 3. Family identified Quintavious Barber, 19, and Milk Moton, 18, as those men.

“He’s scarred for the rest of his life,” the teen’s aunt said. “His life will never be the same.”

Family members said Clay had been jailed for a burglary but was released into a three-month program where he was provided shelter and guidance. Instead, they said, he bounced from place to place.

The attackers are facing aggravated assault and cruelty to a child charges.
