Toddler rescued from roof while 1-year-old hangs from window

After authorities were called to a three-story Philadelphia home, they discovered a toddler on the roof and a 1-year-old climbing out of a window.

Residents called police after they saw a 2-year-old on the slanted roof wearing only a diaper, Associated Press reported. Firefighters pulled the toddler safely from the roof and rescued the 1-year-old, as well.

“Where’s the parents? What’s going on?” neighbor Jacob Durant said. “How could the baby possibly be on the roof? Why would you leave the window open?”

Police said the children were left alone but are going to charge the 2-year-old’s mother, Cleaira Bell, 22, as an adult, and the 1-year-old’s 17-year-old mother as a juvenile.
