Why a voter raised Democrat made the switch to the GOP — VIDEO

Richard Hernandez comes from a Democratic family in a conservative part of California. 

Since Obama ran in 2008, his political opinion changed enough that he has joined the Republican side and is organizing for this year's election. 

"We're really focusing on getting the message out to voters that their votes matter, that they need to actively participate in the caucus," Hernandez said. "It's very important in Nevada that they come out and participate here and in the general election seeing as Nevada is going to be a key state."
