Weather, low fuel force flight to land at Nellis near Las Vegas - VIDEO
An American Airlines flight on its way to McCarran International Airport made an emergency landing at Nellis Air Force Base on Saturday afternoon. Flight 671 was diverted to the base because of wind conditions at the airport and low fuel levels, Nellis spokeswoman Rebekah Mattes said. American Airlines spokesman Josh Freed said there was no fuel leak, and the airplane had enough gas to get to McCarran. The airplane, which was on its way to Las Vegas from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, had 194 people on board, including six crew members.

Kelsey Martinez no longer listed on Raiders’ coaching staff
Kelsey Martinez, the first female assistant in Raiders history, is no longer listed as with the organization, according to the team’s website. Martinez joined the club in March 2018 under Tom Shaw, the department’s then-coordinator who was dismissed in December. Before joining the Raiders, Martinez worked for 4 years at Tom Shaw Performance at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando. The Raiders did not return requests for comment on Martinez’s status.

Gender gap in business owner first-year revenue
A report from JPMorgan Chase found that male business owners in Las Vegas have higher first-year revenue than their female counter parts. According to the report, male business owners in Las Vegas made an average of $70,000 in the first year. Female business owners made an average of $57,000 in revenue their first year, a 20 percent difference. Other cities had larger gaps. Austin, for instance, had a 73 percent difference between male and female first-year revenue. And the gap in San Antonio was a 79 percent difference.

While the policies outlined in Tuesday meeting only impact staff, the LVCVA board also changed its policies after the Review-Journal investigation but one board member quickly exceeded recommended travel rules. Las Vegas Councilwoman Michele Fiore took four international trip in less than a year when the board's policy committee put in place rules that limited international board travel to one trip a year and mostly for educational purposes. The policy did allow board members to travel more than once with approval of the chairman, which Fiore received from Weekly.

Journie Augmon
Liberty senior Journie Augmon has tremendous basketball instincts -- like her father, Stacey, who starred at UNLV from 1987-91 and played 15 years in the NBA. The younger Augmon didn't grow up playing basketball, though, and was a cheerleader for several years. Her dad never pressured her until playing basketball, and she decided to start on her own in seventh grade. Augmon started for the Patriots last year and helped them reach the Class 4A state championship game. She's one of the area's top players this year, and averages an area-best 12.3 rebounds to go with 9.5 points and 2.3 steals.
