Findlay Acura showcases new model

The 2015 Acura TLX is the latest home run hit by American Honda Motor Co. And Findlay Acura Internet manager Zachary Barnes is among those who can testify about the vehicle’s instant popularity.

Since arriving at the dealership in August, the 23-year-old Barnes has sold six TLX models. He’s as schooled about the TLX as anyone.

When speaking of luxury vehicles, Barnes said the TLX has set the standard.

“In so many cases, luxury vehicles are oftentimes small,” said Barnes, an Apple Valley, Calif., native who moved to Southern Nevada from San Francisco two years ago. “To get ample space in a luxury car with room in the backseat, it’s usually necessary to buy one of the larger luxury sedans, which boosts the price considerably.

“That’s simply not the case with the TLX.”

Barnes said the 2015 TLX offers ample cabin space, superior ride quality and quiet. With premium materials that include a soft-touch dashboard and perforated Milano leather throughout, the TLX is infused with class.

The TLX offers buyers a choice of a four or six-cylinder direct injected engine and either a nine-speed automatic or an eight-speed dual clutch transmission.

“The V-6 has 290 horsepower while still achieving 34 miles to the gallon on the highway,” Barnes said. “This is all part of Acura’s movement with the new Earth Dreams technology, looking to blend man and machine and allowing people to have the sportiness and luxury without sacrificing everyday functionality.”

The end result is excellent fuel economy while also allowing you to maintain its athletic abilities.

The TLX’s exterior is just as impressive, Barnes said.

“The TLX is accentuated by its sharp lines and compact footprint,” he explained. “It has a nice size package of sportiness and luxury.

“A big advantage is that the cost of ownership is really low in regards to luxury standards,” he said. “You get the diva without the high maintenance. The big advantage of Acura is that it allows you to drive a luxury vehicle without the high maintenance costs that are often included with a luxury vehicle.”

The buyer profile of the TLX has a wide range.

“I just had a customer who was retired and had been driving another luxury car,” Barnes said. “He drove out of here with a 2015 TLX and he was amazed at how much less he was paying for his new car while maintaining all of the luxury features of his previous car.”
