Missionaries get new ride

Argentines Mario and Adriana Alsina celebrated Christmas with the purchase of a 2013 Elantra GLS from Centennial Hyundai at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwestern valley.

Residents of Las Vegas for almost 11 years, the couple waited until the end of the year to purchase the vehicle, adding the vehicle was their first new vehicle and their second Hyundai.

The couple said they saw an Elantra used as a police car in Indonesia during their travels.

“It has a very nice warranty along with a good price,” said Mario Alsina, who with his wife is a missionary with the Church Iglesia Nueva Vida near St. Louis Avenue and Sixth Streets and with a Bible institute called Global Harvest Theological Institute that will soon move to 2790 E. Flamingo Road.

“There is very good leg space between the front and rear seats along with big doors. If you are transporting people, there is plenty of room for that, too,” Adriana Alsina said. “In addition, it has a luxurious design. There is a lot of technology that goes with the Elantra like hands-free Bluetooth, XM Radio along with excellent handling. The car also has a very large trunk. Many times we carry guitars, so there is plenty of room for a pair of guitars without any kind of problem.”

The Alsinas put 1,200 miles on the car including a trip to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., recently.

“We got terrific gas mileage and the car has plenty of power,” Mario Alsina said.

“We needed a car that we could drive a lot with reliability,” Adriana Alsina said. “This car is very comfortable, whether it’s on a drive around town or on a longer trip.”

The Alsinas praised their sales agent, Paige Poole, who is an Elvis impersonator during his spare time.

“He’s a very nice guy,” Mario Alsina said. “There was no pressure at all, and we had an easy transaction. The deal went fine. We didn’t have a down payment and also had no interest. It’s a great deal for us.”
