Shoot for the Juke

Henderson Nissan in the Valley Automall is putting its own spin on the popular college basketball competition held in March. Entry for the event, called the Net Savings Challenge, will take place through March 26. Individuals can enter for the chance to compete in a 64-person, tournament-style, free-throw shooting contest. The contestant who is able to win his or her way through seven rounds of matchups in the bracket-style contest will drive away in a new 2014 Nissan Juke.

“We wanted to give back to the community and make it fun in the process instead of just drawing a name out of a bucket,” said Brian Mckenna, Henderson Nissan sales manager.

To enter the contest, individuals must visit the Henderson Nissan dealership and fill out an entry blank. Contest entries will be accepted for the drawing until noon March 26. Entry is offered to all individuals 18 years and older with a driver’s license.

All 64 entries will be randomly selected March 26 to participate in the contest and entered into a bracket-style board for the competition. All 64 contestants will win a prize just for being selected to compete.

On March 29 the 64 chosen contestants will square off in a single-elimination, free-throw competition in the middle of the Henderson Nissan showroom. In each round, contestants will have 60 seconds to shoot 10 free throws. The highest scorer in each bracket moves on to next round and the loser is eliminated. Winner of the bracket in final round will receive the 2014 Nissan Juke.

“There is going to be an amazing buzz running through our dealership on the 29th as well as some nervous energy waiting for their chance to shoot for the Juke. We are going to fire up the barbecue and make it a huge day,” Mckenna said.

During the contest, the dealership will be tagged with the Net Savings Challenge logo, indicating all the special incentives on new Nissans.

“We’re ready to put have a tremendous month of March for our community and we invite anyone that thinks they can shoot a free throw to come out and enter. Think about it, 64 people will be chosen so the odds are very good to get to compete for the new car,” Mckenna said.

Complete contest rules are posted at the dealership.
