Indoor playground owners slate grand opening for March 2

A husband-and-wife duo will celebrate the grand opening of Kangamoo Indoor Playground, a space for parents and their children to play and relax, with a ceremony on March 2.

Mimi and Shawn Wachter took notes from their experience raising their 4-year-old daughter when they decided to create an environment where kids can run around and play while parents relax, do their nails or work out.

The name of the facility was inspired by the Wachters' daughter, MaiLee, who had a hard time saying "kangaroo" when she was learning how to talk.

Kangamoo is 9,500 square feet of play areas for kids ages 1 to 10, beauty stations, massage chairs, an indoor track and a cafe. Every aspect of the facility was designed by the Wachters, who have 20 years of combined experience in design and construction.

There are also private party rooms, which can be booked with packages that include balloons, party favors, face painters and photographers, and Kangamoo staff are CPR, AED and first aid certified.

Kangamoo Indoor Playground is at 1524 E. Sunset Road, and will be open Monday through Friday for free play, with Saturday and Sundays reserved for private parties. Kangamoo can also be found online at www.kangamooplay.com.
