Dear Nicolas Cage. Since you’re settled in Vegas now, I am going to start pitching Vegas-angle movies to you. I don’t even want a thanks. Consider this a friendly shout-out, good sir. Here is the root of the pitch.
In Milwaukee on Friday, a very strange divorced man named Kirk C. Riddle went to prison for embezzling $117,000 from his company so he could fly escorts in from Vegas to manage them, and so he could party with druggy strippers around $6,000 high-end toilets he stole from his employer, all leading to a hit-and-run, identity theft, forgery, jumping bail, a cop chase, and a crash in a snow bank, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
This guy reportedly kept phoning his ex-wife and bragging about how she should come see these amazing toilets he stole from his office at Kohler, which makes toilets.
Come on. Seriously. That’s a Nicolas Cage movie.
GOSS, NE-YO GIGS
Caesars Palace has signed headliner Matt Goss to perform more dates through June. Goss has a new album, “I Do,” coming out Feb. 11. It was produced by Ron Fair (Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas) with a 16-piece brass section and 32 string players.
R&B singer/writer Ne-Yo starts a yearlong residency of singing at Wynn-Encore nightclubs tonight when he performs at Surrender. Ne-Yo went to Las Vegas Academy and Rancho High School.
He lightheartedly told me last summer that whenever he is back in town here: “There’s also the occasional chance that I might run into one of those girls who would not give me the time of day in high school, and I can stick my tongue at her.”
Tonight, comedian Lisa Lampanelli will perform at the Palms’ Pearl. Around the same time, the Adult Video News Awards go down at the Hard Rock Hotel. Lampanelli hosted the awards a few years ago.
Lampanelli told me hosting the AVNs is like wrangling cats because “they’re just unruly.”
Adult pros do big-money side jobs while in town. Nikki Phoenix will debut her dance song “My Addiction” (a collaboration with DJ Nilsson) at Drai’s After Hours in Bally’s tonight, alongside local adult-film director Miles Long.
Alexis Texas and Teagan Presley will make paid appearances at Aria’s club Haze. Nikki Benz appears at 1 Oak nightclub in Mirage. And Joanna Angel hosts Sunday’s “Hungover Brunch” for $50 per person at Bar + Bistro downtown (pumpkin cakes, French Toast, and more).
With a CNN camera crew in tow, chef Anthony Bourdain made a few meal trips to Bootlegger Bistro for spaghetti and other recipes of 96-year-old executive chef “Mama” Maria Perry.
Cosmopolitan’s new Rose.Rabbit.Lie. served Criss Angel, UFC fighter Kevin Ferguson, Jeff Beacher, Nathan Burton and comedian Pete Giovine on Thursday.
Rocker Dave Navarro chatted up retired porn legend Tera Patrick on Thursday at 1 Oak, then he left to go to Mirage’s Revolution Lounge, where Joanna Angel was partying. Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris was at Revolution, too.
Boxing champ Sugar Shane Mosley and ex-New Orleans Saint Darren Sharper partied at Haze, where the paid hosts were adult stars Jessica Drake, Stormy Daniels, Kaylani Lei, Samantha Saint and Asa Akira.
