Former Reid staffer returns to office

WASHINGTON – Shannon Raborn is returning to her old role as Southern Nevada director in Sen. Harry Reid’s Las Vegas office.

“Hundreds of Nevadans contact my office each day with questions on housing casework, jobs, immigration, and veterans’ claims among many other issues," Reid said in a statement this morning. "I am confident Shannon’s long-time expertise in policy and outreach efforts will ensure every Nevadan knows and understands the services available to assist them.”

Raborn replaces Rob Elliott who is now senior vice president of public affairs at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. She had worked as Reid’s Southern Nevada director for four years before moving to his re-election campaign in 2010.

Since his re-election, Raborn has worked as a consultant to several Nevada non-profits.
