Did the Sun mail in Monday's paper, or what?

Certain days of the Las Vegas Sun print edition aren't much to read anyway. But brother, did the Sun staff mail in Monday's "newspaper" or what?

The lead story, which is expanded to fill as much space as possible with a huge staged picture of some guy unloading a box of tomatoes and a three-line banner headline that would be overplay on Jesus' second coming, is a retread of a week old story in Vegas Inc.

That's followed by mostly wire filler which on Page 7 includes an esoteric story as only the NY Times wire service can provide it on the ins and outs of the Venezuelan prison system. Compelling stuff, if you know anyone in a Venezuelan jail.

Stories you coulda read last week supplemented with wire stories edited with a shovel. You don't suppose that Venezuelan piece is the first of an occasional series, do you?
