The truth we must hear

Complete Las Vegans will want to make sure they read Glenn Cook's Sunday column. It's an excellent take on how Nevada legislators in large part have stopped advocating for the quality of life of Nevadans and instead have become captives for state government workers.

And if you don't think things are out of control generally with public employee unions in Nevada, take a look at the this Las Vegas Sun story on firefighters gaming the system.

To better survive as a state, we're going to need a systematic overhaul of public employee contracts and, believe me, the current crop of elected officials from dog catcher to Senate leaders are not up to the task.
