MOVIES: Blasts from the past at Tropicana Cinemas

Doesn't matter how big your big-screen TV is. It can't possibly rival a movie theater screen — which makes the Tropicana Cinema's new Insomniac Cinema screening series a movie buff's silver-screen dream.
Every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. — at least through May 27 — the Tropicana presents a vintage favorite.
Coming up March 11, for example, is a bit of the old ultra-violence, with Stanley Kubrick's 1971 classic "A Clockwork Orange," followed by "RoboCop" (1987) March 18 and "The Godfather" (1972) on March 25.
April's lineup includes "The Goonies" on April 1, "Spaceballs" on April 8, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" on April 15, "Ghostbusters" on April 22 and "Psycho" April 29.
May features "The Warriors" (May 6), "Moulin Rouge" (May 13), "The Big Lebowski" (May 20) and "Labyrinth" (May 27).
For more information, go to Regency Theatres' Web site ( and click on Tropicana Cinemas for a link to the Insomniac Cinema lineup ... and don't forget to save me an aisle seat!
