BELLAGIO CONSERVATORY EXHIBIT
Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 693-7111
The glass-domed 90,000-square-foot conservatory features 1,200 bins of exotic plants and flowers such as orchids, lilies and hyacinth. The autumn exhibit includes three "fantasy" trees created by artist Tom Hare; a bed of pumpkins; an Ent tree; animated venus flytraps; a greenhouse featuring 20- to 30-year-old specimen orchids; and more will be on display through Nov. 27.

BONNIE SPRINGS OLD NEVADA
About 18 miles west of Las Vegas off Charleston Boulevard; 875-4191
Offers horseback riding, a petting zoo and dining. The Western town setting of Old Nevada features a saloon, historic exhibits and shops.

EIFFEL TOWER EXPERIENCE
Rides to the observation deck at the top of the Eiffel Tower are available 9:30 a.m.-12:30 a.m. daily, weather permitting. The cost from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. is $10 general admission, $7 seniors and children 12 and younger, $30 for a family package with two adults and two children; from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. general admission is $12, $10 for children and senior citizens.

DEATH VALLEY

The valley, encompassing 3.4 million acres of land, has a low point of 282 feet below sea level and high point of 11,049 feet.

FORUM SHOPS FOUNTAINS

The Fountain Festival show starts at 10 a.m. daily and runs every hour on the hour. The Atlantis Aquarium Behind the Scenes Tour is offered at 3:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

THE FOUNTAINS OF BELLAGIO
3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South; 693-7111
Lighted fountains soar as high as 460 feet in the air. The 30 different shows are choreographed to music. Performances take place every half-hour 3-8 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and noon-8 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. After 8 p.m., performances are every 15 minutes until midnight. The show is free.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
273 miles from Las Vegas in the northwest part of Arizona; (928) 638-7888
Covers more than a million acres of land. Approximately 5 million visitors a year hike, bike or take mule rides down the canyon. The North Rim is closed from late October through mid-May but the South Rim is open year-round.

HOOVER DAM
31 miles southeast of Las Vegas on U.S. Highway 93; (866) 730-9097
One of the world's major hydroelectric power plants. Visitor Center hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The Discovery Tour, a series of presentation by professional guides stationed around the dam site and in the power plant, is offered daily. Tickets are sold until 5:15 p.m., admission is $6-$11, children 6 and younger are free.

LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA
About 25 miles east of Las Vegas off state Highway 93; 293-8990
Features 550 miles of shoreline, six marinas, camping, beaches, boating, sailing, scuba-diving, swimming, hiking, 800 miles of back-country roads, a tour boat and rafting.

MERMAID RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE AT THE SILVERTON
3333 Blue Diamond Road; 263-7777
A 117,000 gallon saltwater aquarium houses thousands of tropical fish and daily fish feeding shows at 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. A mermaid swims in the aquarium at various times Thursdays through Sundays.

MOUNT CHARLESTON
About 50 miles northwest of Las Vegas via U.S. Highway 95 and state routes 156 and 157; 872-5500
Part of the Spring Mountains, it looms 11,918 feet above sea level. Recreational sites feature both winter and summer activities such as skiing and sleigh rides in Lee Canyon and horseback riding and hiking. Full-service camping is available May through September.

MYSTIC FALLS PARK
Sam's Town, 5111 Boulder Highway; 456-7777
A 25,000-square-foot indoor park housing two restaurants, a logo shop, the revolving Ram's Head bar and "Sunset Stampede," a dancing water, laser and light show. Showtimes are 2, 6, 8 and 10 p.m. daily, free.
Free shows are presented nightly on the four-block-long Viva Vision display system. Shows begin at dusk and play on the hour until midnight. Viva Vision towers 90-feet above the pedestrian mall that features retail shopping carts, street performers, free live entertainment and showgirls.

PLANETARIUM
Cheyenne campus of the College of Southern Nevada, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas; 651-4759
Presents showings at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is $6; $4 for seniors, students and children under age 12.

RED ROCK CANYON NATIONAL CONSERVATION AREA
About 15 miles west of Las Vegas off Charleston Boulevard; 515-5350
Home to the Red Rock Escarpment, a 3,000-foot-high mass of multicolored pinnacles and boulders jutting from the canyon floor, feral horses and burros, as well as various species of native wildlife, including bighorn sheep and coyotes. The 13-mile scenic loop drive offers picnic areas and hiking trails and the visitors center features information about the area and a gallery. There is a $7 charge per vehicle to enter the conservation area.

RIO 'MASQUERADE SHOW IN THE SKY'
Rio, 3700 W. Flamingo Road; 777-7776
An indoor entertainment experience featuring a cast of 36 performers, five floats, elaborate costumes and four different themed parades, is presented at 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 p.m. and midnight Thursday through Sunday, free. Guests may participate in the sky parade for $12.95.

'SIRENS OF TI'
Treasure Island, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South; (800) 944-7444
Features sirens battle pirates in Sirens' Cove at 7, 8:30, 10 and 11:30 p.m. nightly.

'WORLD'S GREATEST CIRCUS ACTS'

Features aerialists, trapeze artists and clown shows are featured twice an hour 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays on the Midway Stage; admission is free.
