Casinos combine slot clubs into 'Wild Card'

Barley's, Wild Wild West, Wildfire, Gold Rush and Magic Star casinos have combined their slot clubs into one "Wild Card." Members earn one point for every $1 coin-in and points can be redeemed based on a rate of 600 points equals one comp dollar (no cash). Every Friday in September at 3 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. the casinos will have drawings offering a $1,000 top prize. Wild Card members receive one drawing ticket for every 25 points earned on their card and must be present to win.

Hit a $200-plus jackpot at slots or a $300-plus jackpot at video poker at the El Cortez and you can pick up a special wallet containing a free-play voucher for $10, $20, $50, $100, $200, $500 or $1,000 or a $10 gasoline card (Mobil/Exxon, Arco or Shell) or a $10 gift card redeemable at Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Walgreens, Sears or Smith's. The casino also is giving away a T-shirt or a six-pack of 8-ounce Coors Light to anyone earning 1,000 points ($1,000-$3,000 coin-in; no point redemption necessary) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.

The Venetian is offering a special "gift of the month" to Players Club members in September. Players earning 200 points ($4,000 coin-in on slots, $10,000 coin-in video poker; no point redemption required) in one day get a "special gift," those earning 400 points receive a "limited-edition gift," and any member earning 500 points receives both. Check at the Players Club booth for complete details, including what the actual gifts are.

Live poker has returned to the Rampart with four new tables adjacent to the existing table area. These nonsmoking tables offer a variety of games, including Texas Hold'em and stud, plus there is a maximum rake of only $4 per pot.
