Silverton turns 10 with giveaways and drawings


The Silverton is celebrating its 10th anniversary today with a variety of dining specials, a limited edition gaming chip, and of course, some gaming bonuses. Every 10 minutes, the casino will award $100 in free slot play to someone playing slots with their Discovery Club card. Plus, every Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (6 p.m.) through Aug. 24, the casino will draw nine Treasure Seekers II tickets to win $100 to $900 in cash prizes and one additional ticket to win (by choosing treasure chests at the bottom of the 117,000 gallon saltwater aquarium) at least $20,000 and possibly $250,000. Discovery Card members can earn tickets playing table games (10 entries for $100 buy-in with minimum 30 minutes of play, maximum 50 entries per day), slots and video poker (one entry for every $50 coin-in), keno (one entry for every $5 bet), and live poker (one entry for every $10 buy-in with minimum 30 minutes of play, maximum 100 entries per day).

Nevada Palace, in partnership with Nevada Power Co., is giving away an eight-pack of 13-watt compact fluorescent light bulbs (the equivalent of 60-watt bulbs) to players earning at least 650 points ($812.50 coin-in; no point redemption required) on Wednesdays and Saturdays in July.

On Mondays and Wednesdays this month, players earning 600 points ($600 coin-in; no point redemption required) at the Cannery or 350 points ($700-$1,400 coin-in; no point redemption required) at the Rampart can pick up a four-piece flag plate set.

All MGM Mirage casinos (Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, New York-New York, Monte Carlo, MGM Grand, Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island and Circus Circus) as well as The Venetian are offering double gift points throughout August. These points, offered in addition to normal cashback points, can be redeemed at the end of the year at special gift events at the casinos.

Both the Golden Nugget and Binion's Gambling Hall will give you $10 in free slot play when you sign up as a first-time new member at their players clubs.

"Extra Cash Video Poker Punch Cards" have returned to Jerry's Nugget. Players hitting a four-of-a-kind on any video poker machine from 12:01 a.m. Sunday through 11:59 p.m. Thursday can have their cards punched on the square corresponding to the exact four-of-a-kind. Completed cards with all thirteen punches will be awarded from $50 to $150 depending on the denomination played. A maximum of three cards may be completed during the month.
