A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:
"Casa de Mi Padre" (R): Will Ferrell gets in touch with his inner telenovela actor in this subtitled, Spanish-language comedy as a man trying to save his family's Mexican ranch while trying to survive a war with a drug lord (Gael Garcia Bernal).
Elsewhere, Will Sasso, Sean Hayes and Chris Diamantopoulos slap each other around as the titular knuckleheads in the Farrelly brothers' "The Three Stooges" (PG). Writer-director Jennifer Westfeldt enlists her longtime boyfriend, Jon Hamm, as well as Adam Scott, Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig, for the comedy "Friends with Kids" (R). A man (Guy Pearce) falsely convicted of murder must rescue the president's daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer-space prison in "Lockout" (PG-13). And when a sheikh (Amr Waked) dreams of bringing fly-fishing to the desert, Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt go "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" (PG-13).
Topping today's TV transfers: Cimarron-Memorial graduate Beth Riesgraf stars in "Leverage: Season Four." Also out this week, "Eureka: Season Five," "Sanctuary - The Complete Fourth Season," "Alphas: Season One," "The Inbetweeners - The Complete Series," "Storage Wars: Volume Three" and "American Masters: Johnny Carson: King of Late Night." And, from the vaults, "Bonanza: The Complete Official Third Season," "Diff'rent Strokes: The Complete Third Season" and "Designing Women: The Final Season."
Frank Ocean, "Channel ORANGE": Recently R&B singer-songwriter and member of the Odd Future hip-hop collective Frank Ocean made news by announcing he is gay.
Seeing as how there are few artists in hip-hop who are openly homosexual, this created quite a stir, especially considering that members of his own group have used anti-gay slurs in some of their songs.
Headlines aside, Ocean's talent is as undeniable as his bravery, and with his debut solo disc out now, talk can turn to what really matters: his music.
