Smith’s Food &Drug locations

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas’ annual food drive collects food and items to assist families who travel to Las Vegas to receive medical treatment for their children. Volunteers will be on hand at stores with a wish list of items needed (rmhlv.com).

PUBLIC BLOCK PARTY

Drop-In Center, 4981 Shirley St., across from UNLV off of Tropicana Avenue

Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth will host a free public block party to celebrate the grand opening of its expanded Drop-In Center. The event will feature entertainment, games, tours of the center, food, activities for all ages and more (702-383-1332).

NEVADA ARTS ADVOCATES GALA

To benefit Nevada Arts Advocates, the gala honoring Eileen Hayes, founder and artistic director of Nevada Opera Theatre, will begin with cocktails at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 8 p.m. Tickets are $150 per person (702-362-8885).

BIG GAME 10K/5K

To benefit Goodie Two Shoes, Hollingsworth Elementary School, AzHakim Foundation and Las Vegas Academy, three separate races will start behind Container Park on Carson Ave and Seventh Street.

The Big Game 10K will begin at 8 a.m., with the 5k following at 8:15 a.m. and the Kids’ Dashes beginning at 9:30 a.m.
