Crave huevos con chorizo?

Huevos rancheros, huevos con machaca, huevos con chorizo — it’s the vast variety of such egg dishes that make breakfast at a good Mexican restaurant so appealing. And for Evelyn Austin, who’s looking for huevos con chorizo, readers have several suggestions.

Ann Brown emailed that Austin can find the dish at Frank &Fina’s Cocina at 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, and Christine Johnson saw them on the menu at Casa Don Juan at 1780 N. Buffalo Drive; there’s another Casa Don Juan location at 1204 S. Main St. And Nin Ansara of Ricardo’s at 4930 W. Flamingo Road said they serve them in two dishes, a scramble and a breakfast burrito. …

For Gene and Pat Liselle, who are looking for a local source for Bob’s Big Boy red relish and Bob’s Roquefort Dressing, CeCi Schreiber emailed that she’s a “50-year-plus customer” and never has seen the red relish in retail stores. However, she said, the dressings are available in the cold section of the produce departments at local Smart &Final, Albertsons, Smith’s and Vons stores. And Jan Visser reported finding Bob’s Roquefort Dressing at Vons at 2511 Anthem Village Drive in Henderson. …

For Annie Bartholomew, who’s looking for a restaurant, preferably on the valley’s east side, that serves chow mein made with meat, celery, mushrooms and brown sauce, served over crispy chow mein noodles, Joyce Gargan faxed to recommend the New York-style chow mein at Chopstix, which has locations at 430 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd. and 2381 E. Windmill Lane, adding, “They’re more takeout than restaurant, but the chow mein is tops.” …

For Jennifer Esposito, who’s looking for caponata, preferably in Summerlin, we didn’t find a local retail source or a Summerlin one, but Nancy L. Alif noted that an “excellent” version is served as a complimentary appetizer at Andiamo Steakhouse at the D Las Vegas, 301 Fremont St. downtown …

For Victoria Bitner, who’s looking for fried chicken gizzards, Brown said they’re available at Sunny’s Chicken &Fish at 865 N. Lamb Blvd. …

And for readers looking for ham salad, Darlene Knox emailed to recommend the one sold at HoneyBaked Ham, which has local outlets at 1533 W. Sunset Road in Henderson, 1112 S. Rainbow Blvd. and 6331 Centennial Center Blvd. And I recently got a ham bone at HoneyBaked for making red beans and rice, and it was quite the bargain.
