Pacers player catches cop helping homeless man

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert happened to be in the right place at the right time on Monday when an Indianapolis Metropolitan police officer was caught paying it forward.

“Just seen an Indy police officer pull over. Go into his trunk n give a homeless guy a pair of shiny boots. #COPS,” Hibbert tweeted on Monday.

The homeless man, Fred, has panhandled on the same corner for years, according to WTHR.

“He pulled up and I thought he was going to give me a ticket,” Fred told WTHR. “And he said, ‘What size shoes you wear?’”

The officer then gave him a new pair of boots.

“It’s just luck,” Fred told WTHR. “So I give someone else the shoes, the luck continues, I believe.”
