RAINBOW LIBRARY TO HOST FREE HEART SCREENINGS

The Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, plans to offer free heart ultrasound screenings from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 6. Screenings offered include echo (heart), carotid and abdominal aorta.

Screenings are offered in partnership with the American Institute of Medical Sonography for adults 21 or older. No insurance is needed, and screenings involve no dyes, fasting or injections.

AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION PLANS FASHION SHOW AND DINNER FOR JUNE 6

The American Lung Association plans to host its fourth annual Swing into Summer fashion show and dinner June 6 at the Las Vegas Country Club, 3000 Joe W. Brown Drive. The event is to be hosted by comic and magician Adam London, with fashions to be show by the Best of Saks Fifth Avenue. A cocktail hour and silent auction also are planned.

TEAM CHALLENGE INFORMATION SESSIONS PLANNED

Team Challenge, an endurance training and fundraising program for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, plans to host information sessions in June.

Sessions are scheduled for: 11 a.m. June 7 at REI in Boca Park, 710 S. Rampart Blvd.; 7 p.m. June 4 at REI in The District at Green Valley Ranch, 2220 Village Walk Drive; 6 p.m. June 10 at LV Cyclery, 10575 Discovery Drive; and 6 p.m. June 12 at Gordon Biersch in Boca Park, 750 S. Rampart Blvd.

Professional coaches plan to host group training sessions and clinics on swimming, bike maintenance, equipment, injury prevention, nutrition, fueling and hydration and other relevant topics for three sessions per week. After 16 weeks of training, Team Challenge participants plan to travel to San Diego for the Sept. 21 TriRock triathalon.
