Water Cooler: Romance in Vegas, tuba thefts, Nixon love letters

Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

■ Redbox names Las Vegas America's seventh least romantic city, based on the relative dearth of romantic comedies rented here in 2011. Or, to give it a more positive spin: The American city with the seventh-healthiest aversion to Katherine Heigl.

■ A rash of tuba thefts in Southern California high schools is blamed on practitioners of banda, a form of Mexican dance music. However, school officials are totally perplexed about who might be stealing copies of "Moby Dick."

■ Love letters written by Richard Nixon to wife Pat are exhibited at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. You know how icky it is to think about your parents getting all lovey-dovey? Way, way worse.
