Boston College in NCAA hockey final PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Jeff Farkas scored an unassisted goal with 1:57 left Thursday night as Boston College rallied with three third-period goals to defeat St. Lawrence 4-2 and advance to the NCAA hockey championship game. Boston College will play in Saturday night's title game against North Dakota, a 2-0 winner over Maine. Threatt makes deal on child support PHOENIX -- Former NBA guard Sedale Threatt agreed to pay nearly $172,000 in child support for six of his children as part of a pre-trial release agreement. Threatt, 38, was accused of owing $46,706 in child support for his 14-year-old son, who resides in Boston. He also was accused of owing $125,000 for five additional children, in Georgia, Ohio, Washington and California. Paper says El-Amin to enter NBA Draft STORRS, Connecticut -- University of Connecticut junior guard Khalid El-Amin will skip his senior season to enter the NBA Draft, the Hartford Courant reported. The university didn't return calls seeking comment. El-Amin will announce his plans in a few days after meeting with UConn coach Jim Calhoun, the Courant reported.
Internet offers lead to Tyson title belts ALBANY, N.Y. -- William Eaddy, 33, a school hall monitor, has been accused of trying to sell two of of Mike Tyson's stolen championship belts on the Internet. Tyson's 1986 WBC and WBA heavyweight title belts, which police value at $50,000 each, were listed for sale several weeks ago on eBay, a California-based online auction site. Detectives were negotiating with Eaddy's lawyer to recover the belts, police said. CCSN ranked 19th in baseball poll The Community College of Southern Nevada baseball team was ranked 19th this week by the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Coyotes are 40-6 in their first year of play and have already qualified for the NJCAA's Region I postseason tournament. UNLV earns split in women's softball The UNLV softball team split a doubleheader with New Mexico State at Rebel Diamond, taking the second game 7-3 after falling 6-2 in the opener. In the second game, the Rebels (15-23) got a two-run double in the first inning from Geney Orris and a Nicole Miller grand slam in the sixth. In the first game, UNLV rallied from a 3-0 deficit to make it 3-2 going into the sixth, but New Mexico State scored three in the sixth to pull away.
