Clark County coroner identifies man killed in hit and run crash

One of the men who died after a hit and run moped accident Tuesday morning has been identified.

Phillip Le Nguyen, 21, was one of two riders thrown off of a moped at Las Vegas Boulevard and Windmill Lane after a pickup truck slammed into it from behind.

Nguyen, a Las Vegas resident, died at the scene.

After hitting the moped, the truck continued driving and was hit by another car. Still, it kept driving and left the scene of the accident with the moped lodged underneath it. Las Vegas police later found the truck, but not the driver.

The other moped rider, a 20-year-old man who was pronounced dead at University Medical Center, had not been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as of Wednesday.

These were the 20th and 21st traffic-related deaths in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
