Authorities respond to suspicious package at Riviera

Police and firefighters responded to a suspicious package at the Riviera Hotel and Casino on Monday afternoon.

The package was reported around 2 p.m. and was in an upper floor of the hotel.

Clark County and Las Vegas fire teams responded, as well as Las Vegas police and the bomb squad. The bomb squad was going to X-ray the package to see if it was safe to remove, said a Clark County fire spokesman.

As of 3:15 p.m., the building had not been evacuated.
