Las Vegas police investigate fatal shooting near U.S. 95 and Jones

One man is dead, another is critically wounded and police are looking for their assailant after an overnight shooting in an apartment northwest of downtown Las Vegas.

Police Lt. Ray Steiber says the two men were shot during some kind of argument a little before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in an apartment on Orland Street, near Jones Boulevard and U.S. Highway 95.

The shooter was gone when police arrived, and Steiber says investigators are looking for him.

Steiber says the three men knew each other, but the cause of the argument is still being determined.
