Man arrested in North Las Vegas shooting

Terhain Woods was arrested about 3:10 a.m. on charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

Police accused Woods of shooting and killing Quincy Lavelle Hill, 31, and injuring another man Sunday night in the 2600 block of Ward Street, near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police said Woods and Hill were among a small group of friends at a backyard gathering when a fight broke out. Gunfire followed, police said.

Hill died at University Medical Center. He was shot in the head and the pelvis.

Anyone with information was urged to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at 633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
