Sandoval names new Nevada state public defender
CARSON CITY — A woman who’s served as a Nevada chief deputy public defender since 2008 has been promoted to the state’s top public defender post.
Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Thursday that he was promoting Karin Kreizenbeck. He said she has a wealth of knowledge and treats her clients with dignity and respect.
Kreizenbeck served for a decade as a trial deputy in the state public defender’s office. She was a law clerk for District Judge Dan Papez in eastern Nevada and worked in criminal and civil defense firms.
She’s a member of drug, DUI and mental health specialty court teams.
Kreizenbeck graduated from the University of California, Sand Diego, and has a law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. She’s also fluent in Spanish.
