Two dead in south valley crash

Two people are dead after a two-car crash involving a semitrailer on Interstate 15 near St. Rose Parkway Monday night.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman and trooper Loy Hixson, the semitrailer hit a Nissan near the I-15 southbound exit at St. Rose Parkway shortly after 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the Nissan died at the scene, said Hixson, who did not have information on the second death. The driver of the semitrailer suffered minor injuries.
