Tickets available for Obama's North Las Vegas rally on Thursday

President Barack Obama's rally in North Las Vegas on Thursday will be outdoors at the Cheyenne Sports Complex near the College of Southern Nevada's Cheyenne campus, the campaign announced on Monday.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for the event, which is free and open to the public.

Obama's visit will come the day before early voting ends in Nevada ahead of the Nov. 6 election.

The Silver State is one of nine swing states that will determine whether Obama wins a second term or is replaced by his GOP challenger, Mitt Romney. Recent polls show the president barely edging Romney in Nevada, and Obama's visit this week signals the state remains an election battleground up for grabs.

Obama and Romney also have been sending surrogates to promote early voting in Nevada.

Today , Romney's son Josh and U.S. Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., planned to campaign in Battle Mountain, Elko and Ely to boost turnout in GOP-leaning rural Nevada. Republicans are hoping get as many votes as possible outside Clark County to overcome the Democratic advantage in populous Southern Nevada.
