Fire consumes North Las Vegas house, mobile home

No one was injured during a mobile home fire early Wednesday morning that the North Las Vegas Fire Department said also destroyed a house.

Firefighters responded about 1:30 a.m. to a one-story home in the 2200 block of Revere Street, near Carey Avenue, where a mobile home in the driveway was fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to the garage and house, according to the Fire Department.

Crews took about 50 minutes to completely contain the fire, which was ruled an accidental mechanical fire, and was believed to have started in the engine compartment of the mobile home.

The estimated cost of damage is $241,000. The house and mobile home were considered a complete loss by the Fire Department.

A man was in the home during the fire but was able to escape the blaze and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
