Las Vegas police officer suffers leg injuries in motorcycle crash

Two motorcycles crashed near downtown Las Vegas Thursday afternoon, and one of them was driven by a police officer.

Just after noon a police motorcycle collided with another motorcycle near Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

The civilian driver was not injured, the spokeswoman said, but the police officer was taken to University Medical Center with leg injuries that were not life-threatening.
