Clark County coroner IDs woman killed Thursday in Boulder Highway crash

The woman killed Thursday in a crash on Boulder Highway has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Laura White, 78, of Las Vegas, was the passenger in a 1999 Dodge Caravan when it was struck on the passenger’s side by a 2004 Lincoln Navigator about 2:50 p.m.

The Dodge, driven by 85-year old Nicholas White, was turning left from southbound Boulder Highway to eastbound Russell Road when the Lincoln, traveling north on Boulder Highway, entered the intersection and hit it, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Laura and Nicholas White were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where Laura White was pronounced dead. Nicholas White is still receiving treatment at Sunrise Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. The relationship between Laura and Nicholas White was not immediately available.

The crash also resulted in a power outage, but power was restored to affected customers a few hours later.

This was the 69th traffic-related fatality investigated by Metro in 2016.
