Death of woman who fell 15 stories at D Las Vegas called accident
The Clark County coroner’s office Monday ruled out foul play and suicide in the February death of a California woman who died at the bottom of a hotel laundry chute.
The death was ruled an accident, by blunt force injuries.
The Las Vegas Fire Department was called about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 21 to the D Las Vegas, where they found Kalli Medina-Brown, 26, unresponsive in a third-floor laundry collection area.
She was dead when firefighters arrived. Crews called the Metropolitan Police Department about 2:40 a.m. because the death seemed “suspicious.”
On Feb. 22 police said Medina-Brown had fallen 15 floors, from the hotel’s 18th floor.
“At this time, there is no indication or evidence which would suggest the decedent was a victim of a homicide or any other crime and therefore our investigation is complete,” Metro wrote in a release on Feb. 23.
Police are no longer investigating the death.
